Appraisals vs Buying vs Sorting
Appraisals vs Buying Inquiries vs Sorting Appointments
Appraisal Inquiry: The Independent Jewelry Appraiser is here and takes appointments on Wednesday mornings from 10 am to noon. He also comes in on Fridays but does not take appointments, (If you like, you may drop off your items in advance at any time during business hours).
He writes Insurance appraisals for the purpose of obtaining insurance. These Insurance appraisals will reflect full retail/new replacement values.
He also writes appraisals for Fair Market Value which will also work for IRS, Donation and Estate Purposes. These Fair Market Value appraisals take into consideration the physical state of condition of the piece and current market conditions and values.
The charges for written Appraisals start at $95.00 per item and go up from there depending on the complexity of the item. If you do not need a written appraisal there is no need to make an appointment with him.
Buying Inquiries: If you need to find out is something is real and you are looking to sell an item you need to make an appointment with the "Buyer"- Graduate Jeweler-Gemologist. An appointment is required. Please have them contact me by email, text the store number or send them to my voicemail. We are currently looking to purchase diamonds 1.00ct and over, fine vintage jewelry and Rolex watches.
Sorting Appointment: If you just need to bring in multiple items to see if they are real versus costume (like a jewelry box full) and you are not interested in selling them you need to set up a “sorting appointment” with the “Buyer”- Graduate Jeweler-Gemologist. An appointment is required. Please have them contact me by email, text the store number or send them to my voicemail. There is a fee for this type of “sorting/jewelry box consultation”. The first 15 minutes are free and all the following 15 minutes time periods are $25.00 each.
